Randleman Risk Score Explanation
Low Risk (0–2 points):
Low likelihood of corneal ectasia. LASIK may proceed with standard precautions.
Moderate Risk (3 points):
Intermediate likelihood of corneal ectasia. Additional evaluation and alternative surgical options should be considered.
High Risk (4 or more points):
Significant likelihood of corneal ectasia. LASIK is generally not recommended.

Corneal Topography Options
Normal/Symmetrical:
Includes round, oval, or symmetric bowtie patterns.
Abnormal - Asymmetric Bowtie:
Asymmetric steepening in any direction less than 1.0 diopter (D).
No skewed radial axis.
Inferior Steep/Skewed Radial Axis:
Significant skewed radial axis with or without inferior steepening.
One diopter or more of inferior steepening in some areas but an I-S value of less than 1.4.
Abnormal:
Includes keratoconus, pellucid marginal corneal degeneration, or forme fruste keratoconus with an I-S value of 1.4 or more.
